Yes, it will take a long driving from the City centre of Manchester to overthere by 30 minutes. Or by public transport, you will have to get on a ride of the blue line Metro to Asthon-under-lyne. Then you change the bus route 237 to Matthew Close. By public transport, it will take almost one and half hour. Having a five - minute walk, got off from the bus stop and when walking along the countryside passage to the Arnfield Reservior, you will be attracted by a vintage and small English hut where this Cafe situates. The surroundings of the Cafe are a breath-taking scenery, like the dream land of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. When at arrival, you are firstly greeted by a flock of teals wondering in reservior watery echoing you the beauty of nature. The Cafe is resting quietly by the rim side of Arnfield Reservior. You will be over-whelmed by its noble outlook of this English hut. The Arnfield Cafe is run by two young Hong Kongers with three helping hands of Thai lady chefs. Walking through the entrance and passing the kitchen, there is an attached conservatory, where the dining hall is. This conservatory is built with a glass roof top to conduct sun beam shining very brightly in this dinning hall. There is a fireplace and with sunlight, it keeps a warm enviroment to guests while enjoying their food in winter. Sitting in the dining hall where just adjacent to the reservoir side, guests can have a glance of the entire reservoir. It gives you a transquit feeling of an escape from the busy hub of city. There is a good news to spicy or curry gourmets. You will have choices of "green, red, panang massaman curry" with the combination choices of ingredients- chicken, duck, beef or mutton. 1.You can order the skew and satay of chicken, beef or mutton and the Thai green papaya salad to be the starters to arouse up your appetite. 2.One of the main courses is the green curry with choice of duck. This is highly recommended for the people who can't have spicy or hot curry food but are fond of sweet & mild green curry whereas it is good for gourmets who are facinated by curry food at a low degree of spiciness. The duck meat is so tender! It is also fabulous to have a plate of jasime rice pouring with the green curry. You will never forget this fantastic and mouth- watering tast to your tast buds. 3. Why not have the Pad Thai to be another main course. This was well - cooked by the Thai lady chefs. It was scrumptious and made us empty up the dish. What is amazing that it is terrific you can enjoy chatting with friends while dining in neat conservatory room aside by the charming view of the reserviour.
